Some SEO tips
1. Correct use of keywords
Integrate the search term in the title and the text itself. Varations on that search term may be used as well. Make sure that the whole looks natural and reads fluently. In other words, try to avoid a keyword density that is too high.
2. Search terms in the URL
Integrating search terms in the URL of your website can improve its search engine ranking. That is if that same search term returns in the website itself. If possible, try to mention keywords in subtitles and in the description and keyword tag. However, keep your website's content readable. Try adding a semantic touch to the text as search engines find this aspect more and more important.
3. Content
The content of your website should be relevant and of high-quality. Updating your website on a regular basis is without a doubt an asset.
4. Links
A sufficient amount of internal links is of great importance to the general ranking of your website. Aim for a clear linking structure so that search engine spiders can easily crawl through the site. All links should stay within three clicks from the homepage. Pages that have a lot in common should be linked.
5. Outbound links
Only link to high-quality sites that are relevant for your website and that preferably have a high Google PageRank. This way, you make clear to the search engines that your website is useful. Make sure, however, you don't link to link farms or other spammers. When in doubt, don't bother linking.
6. Link popularity
Link popularity is one of the most important factors when it comes to Google's ranking results. The goal is to obtain as many incoming quality links as possible. Keep in mind that one way links are more effective than reciprocal links. When you set up a good website with plenty of relevant and unique content that is useful to surfers, then incoming links will come automatically.
7. Anchor text
Don't forget to use anchor text! Inbound links should be connected to the website's subject. Bear the accompanying text in mind and use different text links to avoid penalties due to keyword spamming.
8. A reliable server and service
As any other company, Google offers services (SERPs) that should be available 24/ 7. That's why you should make sure that you have a good and reliable server. When your website breaks down too often and is inaccessible to the search engine bots, this will effect your ranking in a negative way. When your site breaks down for longer than 48 hours, you could be kicked out of the index, something you don't want to happen.
9. Say no to duplicate content
Your website should have unique content at all times. That means no copied fragments from other websites. Duplicate text goes straight to Google's supplementary index. Your website will score less, or even worse, stop scoring for the chosen keywords or keyword phrases. Another thing you should bear in mind is never to use the same meta tags or title within your website. This will also be seen as duplicate content.
Your overall SEO strategy should be conform to what surfers and search engines expect: relevant and useful information. In addition you should always be careful when linking to other websites.
